Chapter 15: Mitra
The star button that holds your two AI helpers: Relation Analysis for your chats, and the Diary with its photo and video analysis. Covers where to find it, language, voice and limits.
15.1 What Mitra is
What is Mitra?
Mitra is the round star button on the Samaj, Contacts and Social tabs. It opens one screen with two features: Relations, which analyses your chat with one person, and Diary, where you collect threads and ask the AI about them.
Is Mitra a general chatbot?
No. Mitra does not chat about any topic. Its AI works only on your own chat with a person you pick (Chapter 17) and on the things you have saved in your Diary (Chapters 18 and 19).
Is Mitra a real person?
No. Mitra is an AI that uses Google's Gemini. Treat its answers as a summary of your own material, not as advice from a person.
Where do I find Mitra?
Tap the star button at the bottom right of the Samaj, Contacts or Social tab. It hides while a chat is open.
What is on the Mitra screen?
Two tabs at the top.
- DIARY: your Thread Diary, with AI questions and photo and video analysis (see 15.2).
- RELATIONS: pick a person and analyse your chat with them.
What is the Mitra icon on a contact's tile?
It opens Relation Analysis for that person directly (see 17.1). It is dimmed when the person is not on KuhuChat yet.
Is Voice Status part of Mitra?
No. Voice Status is a separate feature with its own megaphone icon (Chapter 16).
Does Mitra work offline?
No. The AI runs on KuhuChat's servers, so you need internet.
Does Mitra cost anything?
The app shows no separate charge for Mitra. Questions and analyses have daily limits (see 18.4 and 19.7).
15.2 Diary and its AI
What can the AI do in the Diary?
- Ask a question about one thread.
- Analyse selected photos and videos and keep the result under Past analyses.
Chapter 18 explains the Diary and Chapter 19 explains photo and video analysis.
How do I reach the AI inside a Diary thread?
Open a thread and tap the Mitra icon. A menu offers Select items to analyze, Past analyses and Ask a question.
How does image analysis work?
Choose Select items to analyze, tick up to 15 photos or one video, and start. The AI looks at them and writes a summary. It is saved under Past analyses so you can read it again or ask about it.
What does the AI see in my photos?
Your photo is made smaller and sent to Google's Gemini AI for analysis. For one video up to 2 minutes, the whole video with its sound is sent. If the file is too big, a few pictures from it are sent instead (see 19.5). Only photos and videos you select are analysed.
Does the AI make things up?
It is designed to answer only from your tagged Diary items and your past analyses, and it shows the sources it used as small thumbnails. If nothing relevant is found, it says so instead of guessing.
How many questions can I ask?
You can ask 50 questions per thread in any 24 hours. When you reach the limit, try again later.
Can I speak my question?
Yes. The Ask a question box has a mic for dictation.
Can I ask about an earlier analysis?
Yes. Open it from Past analyses and choose Ask about this analysis. The next question is answered from that analysis only.
Who can see my Diary analysis?
Your own analyses are saved in your Diary. Threads you share show their items to the people you share them with. See Chapter 18.
15.3 Mitra language
Which languages does Mitra reply in?
Relation Analysis replies in 11 languages: Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Urdu. Odia and Assamese are not available for Mitra yet, although the rest of the app supports them.
How do I choose Mitra's language?
Open Mitra, go to the RELATIONS tab and tap the language chip. Pick your language. It is saved to your account.
What if I have not chosen one?
Mitra guesses from your state. If it cannot, it uses Hindi.
Does it follow the app language?
No. Mitra has its own language setting, separate from the app language (see 2.1).
If I change the language, is the result rewritten?
Yes. The Relation Analysis summary is created again in the new language.
15.4 Voice and speaking
Does Mitra speak its answers in Relations?
Yes. Replies are read aloud in your Mitra language and also shown as text.
Can I mute it?
Yes. Tap the speaker button to mute or unmute. Text replies still appear.
Can I speak my question instead of typing?
Yes. Tap the mic, speak, and tap again to stop. If the microphone is not available, allow microphone permission for KuhuChat in your phone settings.
How do I change the voice?
Tap the voice button to open voice settings.
- Voice: male or female.
- Speed: 0.5x to 2.0x.
- Pitch: -20 to +20.
Do my settings stay?
Speed and pitch are saved on your phone. They do not move to a new phone.
The voice does not play.
Check your volume and internet, and check that Mitra is not muted.
15.5 Troubleshooting
Mitra says "First select a member".
Relation Analysis works on one person's chat at a time. Tap the member button at the top, pick someone and tap Analyze first.
Mitra says it could not find chat data.
There are no readable text messages between you and that person yet. Chat first, then try again.
Something went wrong.
Check your internet and try again. An analysis can take up to a minute.
Is my use of Mitra private?
See 17.4 for what is read and sent in Relation Analysis, and Chapter 18 for the Diary.
